Jan 27, 2008--SNOW!!

Perhaps many of you have already heard about our few days of snow! Here are pics from the 2nd snow storm of the season. This winter has been especially cold and windy. The day before these pictures were taken, Saturday, we had some freezing rain, making it slightly slick, but I still managed to get out for lunch with friends and some fun shopping. Taunya and I were....hoping it would snow...and then what do you know! We got about 8 inches!! The girls LOVED it.

Church was canceled and then school canceled for 2 days. Here are some pics of our snowfall and the fun we've had!

The freezing rain that had fallen before the snow, left a thick layer of ice everywhere. The girls found chunks of it on top of the grass and had fun digging it up. This snow was actuallly not "packable" but made for great sledding on the side of our home.

Mikenna mostly enjoyed the snow :)

I think Michael enjoyed pulling out the snow blower. Everyone pitched in to help shovel. My dad even did a bit of service. After Mike was done with our driveway, my dad took the blower to our neighbors and dug out their driveways--the Wrights, the Weighalls, and our new neighbors next door. Then he came home, filled up the gas tank and spent the next hour helping the Van's dig out their driveway! (That's him in the last photo.)
